The Mars Mission
Documentary Project

When we look to milestones in human evolution, inter-planetary colonization is very much a beacon on that horizon. Evolution Mars is a documentary project that captures the colossal obstacles, the heroic minds, and the sights unseen in the journey to the red planet.
Documenting the Evolution to Mars
The first mission to Mars may not be led by the government, but by a handful of private sector explorers. Predictions vary from company to company, but what is certain is humans will colonize Mars in our lifetime.
Public interest in the steps to interplanetary travel is staggering. What used to be worked out only in science fiction now is a multi-billion dollar industry championed by the greatest minds on the planet.
As travel to Mars is accomplished, and the first settlement is established, Evolution Mars will be there every step of the way offering an in-depth perspective of what such a momentous achievement means for humankind.

- Space industry leaders, such as SpaceX, JPL, Lockhead, and NASA are set to launch manned missions to Mars as early as 2020.
- According to Elon Musk, the first unmanned SpaceX expeditions will take place as early as 2018.
- Unlike NASA, which relies on public money and is therefore risk averse when it comes to "loss of crew" requirements for human missions into space, SpaceX appears to be willing to take some risks with the unprecedented exploration to Mars. Musk told WaPo: "It’s dangerous and probably people will die—and they’ll know that."
- Eventually it will be safe to go to Mars, Musk said, and living there will be comfortable. But this is many years into the future, he acknowledged.
